“Oh my goodness Sterling, what’s up with all that wheezing today?\u00a0 It’s like you always want to cough up a hair ball or you’re choking on some food?”\u00a0 “I know, Skye. I’m getting a little worried.\u00a0 I’m feeling a little tired too and sometimes it’s hard for me to breathe.”\u00a0\u00a0“Good news is Momma noticed too and she just got off the phone with Dr. Buzz.\u00a0 Listen, she’s starting to talk to Gigi.”<\/em><\/p>\n

“The doctor says that it could be asthma so we’ll take Sterling in to have him checked out.\u00a0 The vet said that early symptoms could be more difficult to detect but his fait wheezing and his being extra tired are definitely <\/em>signs.\u00a0 He said that a full-blown attack may at first resemble him just trying to cough up a hairball, but we need to look at his body posture. With asthma, the cat’s body will be hunched lower to the ground and his neck and head will be extended out and down in an effort to clear the airway of mucous. The “gagging” may also be accompanied by <\/em>a typical coughing sound, and possibly sneezing. The cat may or may not expel f<\/em>oamy mucous. Even a cat showing one or two of the early symptoms should be <\/em>examined because it’s treatable.”<\/em><\/p>\n

“Oh, Momma, I hope that he will be okay?\u00a0 I couldn’t stand it if something happened to him!”\u00a0 “Don’t worry, Honey, we’ll get some medicine for him.”<\/em><\/p>\n

“Oh wow Sterling, it\u00a0sounds like you’re going to the vet’s office\u00a0in the morning.\u00a0 I know he’ll fix you right up!\u00a0 But I have to say that I’m glad it’s you and not me, Bro.\u00a0 I’m<\/em>
