HOPE. HEALING. RECOVERY.

A transformative journey to life in recovery.

CLAS Policy

The national standards for Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) were developed by the US Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Minority Health.  The standards serve as a guide for all agencies striving to improve healthcare quality and health equity.

There are a total of fifteen standards, spanning four topic areas: 1) principal standard, 2) governance, leadership, and workforce, 3) communication and language assistance, and 4) engagement, continuous improvement and accountability.

Staff at Community Blessings Foundation directly impact the health and well-being of clients through the treatment of substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders by providing outpatient clinical and holistic counseling services.

Preventable Health Disparities
Health disparities are preventable differences in the burden of disease, injury, violence, or opportunities to achieve optimal health that are experienced by populations that have been disadvantaged by their social or economic status, geographic location, and environment. Many populations experience health disparities, including people from some racial and ethnic minority groups, people with disabilities, women, people who are LGBTQI+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, or other), people with limited English proficiency, and other groups.
